Transforming Transmissions

Prototyping nuanced data sharing models for generative media

Description

A generative sonic sculpture that tackles pressing themes of ownership, copyright and consent. This project explores AI and communication through the dynamic evolution of sounds as they journey from transmission to reception. How is the message distorted through this system, how does this reshape our understanding of ownership and creativity?

The 2024 Berlin installation of this project invited participants to share a story, define sharing characteristics, and join their modified story to a looping audio. The installation was complemented by a hands on workshop investigating both loss and opportunity via collective participation in generative systems.
